Small Works on Paper. Studies from January 2025.
When I am embarking on a new body of work—exploring ideas, themes, and techniques—I create studies on paper or small bits of canvas. These studies are the creative blueprints, where I experiment with depth, balance, shadow, light, texture, and form.
At the start of 2025, with journals full of poems, memories, and thoughts, I worked through concepts for what may come this year. From that process, I have hand-selected a collection of studies on paper, created with acrylics, watercolor, conte crayon, thread, and yarn.
